Detail Specification Specialty General Surgery Practice Setting Inpatient / Emergency (18-Bed Critical Access Hospital - CAH) Start Date June 18, 2027 End Date Ongoing (Dates outlined through end of 2027) Coverage Type 24-Hour Call Only (Starts at 05:00 AM; ends at 05:00 AM the morning following the final date) Call Response Time 2-hour call-back time Credentialing Timeline 30-60 Days Board Certification Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery Life Support / Certifications ACLS, ATLS, and BLS required EMR System Epic Facility Support 24/7 CRNA coverage; 24/7 Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging support Clinical Scope & Shift Structure Facility Type: 18-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH). Call Structure: 24-hour continuous emergency call blocks starting at 05:00 AM on the first scheduled date and concluding at 05:00 AM on the morning after the last date (e.g., June 18-20 coverage runs from June :00 to June :00). Scope of Practice: Emergent and urgent general surgery consults, emergency department evaluations, surgical admissions, and acute operative interventions typical of a rural critical access setting. On-Site Support: Dedicated 24-hour CRNA anesthesia coverage alongside around-the-clock laboratory and imaging services. 2027 Coverage Dates Needed June: June 18-20 July: July 2-4, July 16, July 24-25 August: August 13-15, August 27-29 September: September 10-12, September 24-26 October: October 8-10, October 22-24, October 30-31 November: November 5-7, November 19-21 December: December 3-5, December 17-19, December 31 Candidate Requirements Education & Training: ACGME/AOA-accredited residency in General Surgery. Board Certification: Active Board Certification (ABS/AOBS) or Board Eligibility. Certifications: Active ACLS, ATLS, and BLS credentials. Availability & Reliability: Ability to maintain a 2-hour response window when called and cover multi-day weekend/holiday call blocks consistently.
