NeurosurgeonSeattle, WA(Locum Tenens)Position Overview:We have an immediate need for a full-time locum Neurosurgeon to provide Neurosurgical services for our veteran population at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System located in Seattle, WA. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans lives while experiencing the unique beauty of Northwest.Scope of Care: Physician shall be responsible for providing care, including, but not limited to:Approximate case load:8 patients per provider (per clinic).3 procedures per surgical sessionOperative Services:Operative & Clinical ServicesComplex wound drainageSecondary closure of surgical woundsApplication of cranial tongsStructural bone grafts (including add-on procedures)Autograft for spine surgerySpine SurgeryCervical (neck) spine fusionAdditional spine fusion proceduresThoracic spine procedures (lateral transverse technique)Lumbar spine fusion, including additional segmentsPlacement of spinal fixation devicesRemoval of posterior spinal instrumentation (e.g., Harrington rods)Placement of spinal prosthetic devicesRemoval of spinal fixation devicesCranial / CSF ProceduresPlacement of ventricular cathetersInsertion of cerebrospinal fluid diversion devicesOpen cranial procedures for drainageRemoval of intracranial foreign bodiesPlacement of subarachnoid shuntsEstablishment of intracranial shuntsRevision or replacement of brain shuntsDecompression & Disc ProceduresLaminectomy (including add-on procedures)Cervical disc surgeryLumbar disc surgeryAdditional spinal disc procedures (add-on)Lumbar laminotomyAdditional interspace decompression (cervical and lumbar)Removal of abnormal facet jointsLaminectomy with vertebral body removalAdditional vertebral body removal (add-on)Other Neurosurgical ProceduresExcision of intraspinal lesionsLaminectomy for extradural biopsy (lumbar)Revision or removal of neurostimulator receiversRepair of dural cerebrospinal fluid leaksUlnar nerve revision at the elbowCarpal tunnel releaseMicrosurgical procedures (add-on)Clinic ServicesOffice/outpatient visits for established patientsOffice consultationsAdministrative services: estimated 15% of time not involved in direct patient careAdministrative time is included with FTE hoursMust have completed a residency in Neurosurgery must also be Board Certified /Board Eligible in accordance with American Board of Internal Medicines NEUROSURGERY Standards.Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.Hours & Schedule:VA Business Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday not including evenings, weekends, and holidaysClinic or OR Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pmPhysician shall be available and present in clinic during normal clinic hours and may be revised, as deemed appropriate for patient care by the Chief of Staff.Valentina PerezRecruiterSygnetics, Inc.(248)
