Locum Tenens Opportunity: Pediatric Surgeon Location: Iowa
Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Surgeon for a locum tenens position near Afton, IA. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated surgical team in providing exceptional care to pediatric patients. The position is available immediately and offers a flexible schedule with 24-hour shifts.
Position Details: Specialty: Pediatric Surgery
Shift Type: 24-Hour
Certification Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Surgery, BLS, PALS
License Requirements: Iowa medical license
Procedures Required: General Surgical Cases (Pediatric and Neonatal), Chest Wall/Pleural Procedures, Central Line Insertion, Chest Tube Insertion, Vascular Surgery (Thoracic, Abdominal), Laparoscopic Surgery (Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication), Additional Procedures for Physicians Trained as Pediatric Surgeons (Esophageal Atresias, Intestinal Atresias, Biliary Atresias, Abdominal Wall Defects - Gastroschisis, Umbilical Defects - Omphalocele, Umbilical Defects - Hernia)
Practice Details: Practice Setting: Hospital Based
Schedule: 24-Hour shifts, Call Schedule: 7AM to 7AM
Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: 3
Trauma Level/Designation: Level 2 Trauma Center
Documentation System/EMR: AEHR
Number of Operating Rooms: 20+
Number of General Surgeons in Practice: 2
Patient Age Demographic: Adolescent, Pediatric, Neonate, Adult, Geriatric
