Locum Vascular Surgeon Opportunity in Portsmouth, VA

Duration: Anticipated ongoing coverage, with potential for long-term engagement
Schedule: Mon-Sun 24-hour call; Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Mon-Fri 4:30 pm - 8:30 am night call; Fri-Mon 4:30 pm - 8:30 am weekend call
Hours/Week: Flexible, based on call coverage
Employment Type: Locum
Licensure/Certifications: VA state medical license or willing to obtain; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery; ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications (or willing to obtain)
Experience: Prior hospital-based vascular surgery experience preferred

What You'll Do
Provide inpatient vascular surgery care, including handling dialysis access and bread-and-butter procedures
Manage actively hospitalized adult and geriatric patients
Participate in 24-hour call coverage, including night, weekend, and holiday shifts
Collaborate with hospital staff to deliver high-quality surgical care
Document all patient interactions accurately using Epic EMR
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
What You Need
VA medical license (or in process)
Board Certified/Eligible in Vascular Surgery
At least 1 year of hospital-based vascular surgery experience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including overnight and weekend call
