JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Urology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Las Cruces, NM Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Sep 21, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon Fri Half day clinic or elective OR + IP Call Schedule: Nights & Weekends Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 20 minutes Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency COVERAGE DATES Sep 21 Oct 01 Oct 05-12 Nov 09-16, 23-30 PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults, very few pediatric Rounding: Yes Phone Consults: 5-10 FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: IV EMR System: Athena (Clinic), Medhost (Hospital) Physician in Practice: 1 Specialty Backup Available: Hospitalists Support Staff: MAs: 1, Office Staff: 2 Nursing staff, Urology tech PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE Licenses: NM license or willing to obtain Certifications: BLS, ACLS Duties & Responsibilities Provide urology clinic coverage (half-day) including patient consultations and follow-ups. Perform elective urology surgical procedures in the operating room. Provide inpatient urology coverage, including rounding on active consults. Manage phone consults (5-10 per day) and provide beeper call coverage. Collaborate with local urologists, nursing staff, urology techs, and hospitalists.
