## Physicians Assistant Per DiemApplylocations: 160 North Midland Avenuetime type: Per diemposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: JR **City/State:**Nyack, New York**Department:**Nursing Administration\_5**Work Shift:**Day**Work Days:**MON-FRI**Scheduled Hours:**8 PM-4:30 AM**Scheduled Daily Hours:**8 HOURS**Scheduled Weekly Hours:**40**Hourly Rate/Range:**Starting at $92.00 per hourFor positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.**Job Summary** Under the general supervision of a Physician, the Physician Assistant will be assisting in surgeries and other invasive procedures; rounding on admitted patients; writing orders, notes and consults on surgical patients, counsel patients and families, and other patient care duties; managing all aspects of in-patient medical care. Physician Assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision making and broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The Physician Assistant will work closely with the appropriate surgeon(s) to deliver high quality care in a safe and meaningful manner. **Essential Functions*** 1. Understands and adheres to Highland Medical’s performance standards, policies & Behaviors.* 2. Ability to assist in surgical procedures.* 3. Rounds, writes orders, notes and consults on surgical patients.* 4. Must possess excellent organizational, written and verbal skills.* 5. Delivers high quality care with collaboration of multiple disciplines including but not limited to, surgeons, hospitals, nursing, respiratory, physical therapy, wound care nutrition and care management.* 6. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and to educate patients, families and staff in a user-friendly manner.* 7. Demonstrates ability to demonstrate hand-eye coordination, full range of motion and manual dexterity.* 8. Conducts physical exams, assesses health status, orders and interprets tests, prescribes medication and extreme illnesses. Consult with physicians as needed and refers to physician for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routing part of the PAs scope of practice.* 9. Attend multidisciplinary rounds.* 10. Documents patient information and care in the medical record, in a confidential manner, and may maintain departmental statistical database for research and quality purposes.* 11. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, assignments, and deadlines simultaneously.* 12. Must possess problem solving skills and abilities.* 14. Performs all other related duties as assigned.* 15. Must have exemplary customer service skills and train and manage staff to possess those skills.* 16. Must have basic knowledge of computers and able to implement an electronic health record, when available.* Personal and Professional Attributes* 17. Ability to manage and work well with patients, co-workers, and management in a positive and cooperative manner.* 18. Must be detailed oriented* 19. Must be flexible with working hours to accommodate the needs of the facility, physicians and management.* Qualitative and Quantitative performance standards* 20. Must be multitasking and be able to set priorities to complete assignments within a specified time-frame.**Qualifications*** Bachelor Degree Required* 1-3 years Experience working as a Physician Assistant Required* Experience in EPIC preferred. Must have the ability to communicate verbally with patients, relatives, attending physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel.
