Job description
Pipe LayerWe are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join our construction team working on underground utility projects. This role involves installing, assembling, and maintaining various types of piping systems including sanitary, storm, and sewer lines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in trench work and utility installation and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall sanitary sewer, storm drain, and water/sewer piping systemsPerform trench layout, grading, and pipe alignment according to project specificationsRead and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and site plansEnsure proper pipe slope, alignment, and depthAssist with trench preparation, including shoring and safety complianceWork alongside equipment operators and laborers to complete installations efficientlyPerform backfilling and compaction as requiredMaintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with OSHA standardsQualificationsMinimum 2+ years of proven pipe laying experience in construction or utility workExperience with sanitary, storm, and sewer piping systems requiredAbility to read and interpret construction plans and grade stakesKnowledge of trenching and excavation safety practicesAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsStrong work ethic and ability to work as part of a teamPreferred QualificationsExperience working in heavy civil or underground utility constructionFamiliarity with equipment such as excavators and backhoesOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plusPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift 50+ lbs regularlyAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and work in trenches for extended periodsComfortable working long hours as needed
