Job description
Pipe LayerAssists in the installation of various types of storm drainpipes. The pipe layer will work safely in the field and utilize knowledge of materials, methods, and tools to work efficiently.Essential Functions:Work with a crew to install storm drainpipes and structures.Must be able to use pipe laser equipment.Operate hand and power tools.Prepare the area in which the pipe will lie by directing trenching and gradingFoster and maintain a safe work environmentOther:Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.Assists with loading and unloading trucks & deliveries.Competencies:Rigging skillsStress Management/Composure.Process-drivenTeamwork orientationWork Environment:This is field field-based role. Employees will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. All projects are outdoors, in all weather and temperature extremes.The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.Physical Demands:The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work.
