Pipe Welder Shipyard StaffingNSC Staffing is seeking TIG Welders with 2-5 years of experience for an exciting project in Everette, WA. This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled team repairing and modernizing marine vessels, including U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, and commercial ships. We will assess qualified applicants' skill level and schedule interviews at our office.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the following tasks, with additional duties as assigned:Read a tape measureLayout MaterialFit-Up MaterialRiggingRead a blueprint/drawing/tech manualComprehensive Torch and Weld WorkRadius GageHand Power ToolsShop Tools/EquipmentRequired Education and Experience:Must have verifiable TIG experience.Ability to comprehend and utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals to weld metalsMust have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and be able to multitaskUnderstand the Work Process to measure, cut, and weld metal (of multiple material types) to the required specificationsAbility to weld metal using various requirements and procedures such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlinesMust be able to work independentlyUnderstanding of the Ship repair industryMust be DBIDS and TWIC credential-eligibleThe pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on 5' Schedule 80 carbon steel pipes. GTAW (TIG) process is used for the root pass, and 11018 electrodes are used for the weld fill portion and cap.Working Conditions:Open-air conditions such as noise, heat, and cold, and in an office-controlled environment.May have to visit projects aboard ships, rigs on land and offshore, and confined spaces. Wear hearing, eye, and head protection and proper PPE when required.Visits may require standing on various surfaces at differing angles, bending over, crouching, and climbing obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.Why NSC Staffing?
