Job description
Pipe WelderAvail Staffing is seeking experienced Pipe Welders to support ship repair and new construction projects in a fast-paced shipyard environment. Candidates must have experience welding various pipe systems aboard naval or commercial vessels while maintaining high-quality workmanship and strict safety standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding on pipe systems aboard ships and submarinesRead and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding proceduresFabricate, fit, and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel piping systemsPrepare pipe surfaces for welding, including grinding, beveling, and alignmentComplete welding in confined spaces, elevated areas, and shipboard environmentsConduct pipe repairs, replacements, and new installations according to NAVSEA and shipyard standardsOperate hand tools, grinders, torches, and welding equipment safely and efficientlyMaintain clean and organized work areas while following OSHA and shipyard safety requirementsWork closely with pipefitters, supervisors, and QA inspectors to meet production schedulesQualificationsMinimum 3 years of pipe welding experience in a shipyard, industrial, or marine environmentProficient in SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and/or FCAW welding processesAbility to pass a hands-on welding testExperience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe systems preferredAbility to read blueprints and welding symbolsKnowledge of NAVSEA standards is a plusMust be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spacesReliable transportation and strong attendance requiredPreferred CertificationsOSHA 10Shipyard Badging or DBIDS AccessBenefitsCompetitive PayOvertime OpportunitiesWeekly PayCareer Growth Opportunities
