Pipe Welder – Shipyard OpportunityLocation: MississippiJob Type: Long-Term Shipyard OpportunityShift: Must be available to work any shiftHKA is currently hiring experienced Pipe Welders for a long-term shipyard opportunity in Mississippi. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of pipe welding experience and be able to perform welding procedures on stainless steel and copper-nickel pipe.Pay Package:Pay Rate: Up to $48.00 per hour, depending on experiencePer Diem: $180.00 per day for qualified non-local candidatesMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of pipe welding experienceExperience with Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, also known as GTAW/TIG weldingExperience with Shielded Metal Arc Welding, also known as SMAW/stick weldingAbility to pass a military standard X-ray welding test on stainless steel and copper-nickel pipe in the restricted 6G positionAbility to pass welding assessments in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions, including 3G, 2G, and 4GMust be able to work in a shipyard environment, including heights, confined spaces, various weather conditions, and multiple shiftsMust be available to work ANY shift as production needs changeWelding Test Requirements:Pipe welding test is performed in a restricted 6G positionTest is completed on a 5-inch schedule 80 carbon steel pipeGTAW/TIG process is used for the root pass11018 electrode is used for the weld fill portion and capJob Responsibilities:Perform pipe welding procedures on stainless steel and copper-nickel pipeUse GTAW/TIG, SMAW/stick welding, and other required welding processesWork from shipyard requirements, procedures, and specificationsPerform welding in production areas that may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditionsFollow all safety procedures and maintain a strong commitment to safe work practicesHKA stresses the importance of working safely in all situations.Apply today to be considered for this long-term shipyard pipe welding opportunity.
