Pipefitter PositionWe are looking for experienced Pipefitters for a marine manufacturer located in New Orleans. This is a direct-hire opportunity with room for growth.ELIGIBLE FOR $1,500 SIGN ON BONUSPay: $22.25 - $34.25 / hour depending on level with quarterly increasesNote: Level will be determined based on relevant experience, scope of role, skills, etcJob Duties:Layout and route mechanical piping systems; make mock up of systems; pressure test systems, must be familiar with installation of marine and air craft type fitting; install pumps, models, valves and pressure switchesJob duties involve tubing identification, holes, label plate installation, drill penetration, piping and testingTypical tools used in the performance of job duties include open-ended wrenches and socketsMay perform work from Engineering drawings, sketches, written and verbal instructionsReading from computer screens to retrieve work instructions, blueprints or other documentsMay direct the work activities or tasks of other employeesMaintain records, forms, and logs as requiredPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementQualifications:One (1) plus year of related tubing mechanic experienceExperience dealing with thin wall tubing (ending, routing, cutting, etc.)Ability to read blueprints, shop orders, sketches, and drawings is necessary to the completion of tasks or workAbility to perform shop mathematicsBasic computer skillsWillingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notificationGeneral understanding of metric measuring systemNaval craft experience is a plusNote: Level will be determined based on relevant experience, scope of role, skills, etcSimilar roles may include:Tube fitter, pipe fitter, welder, fabricator, boilermaker, carpenter, tooling technician, mechanic, plumber
