Shop Pipe FabricatorThe Shaw Group is proactively building a pipeline of qualified candidates for future opportunities. While an immediate opening may not be available, applications will be reviewed and considered as business needs arise.All candidates must take a craft assessment and successfully pass with 70% or more to be considered.Job Overview:This is a project-based position. The Shop Pipe Fabricator lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts. At least 5 years of documented field experience in chosen craft discipline and have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation and plan and perform work activities alone. Straightens warped or bent partsPositions or tightens braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps or bolt parts in positions for welding or rivetingResponsible forobservingandcomplying withall safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipmentPerforms other duties and activities asrequiredAbility to read and interpret engineering drawing instructions and documents, plan and perform work activities independentlyAbility to apply shop mathematics to solve problemsCan plan work and select proper toolsHas knowledge ofcommonly-usedconcepts, practices, and procedures within a particular fieldRelies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobWorks under minimum supervision.
