Job OverviewNova Space Solutions (NSS) is seeking a Pipefitter/Plumber – Maintenance to support operations at Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF). This position performs installation, maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction activities on plumbing and piping systems, including steam, water, gas, oil, air, chemical, hydraulic, compressed air, fire sprinkler, and sanitary systems.ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Duties:Install, assemble, repair, and maintain plumbing lines, piping systems, fixtures, and accessoriesDetermine routing and location of lines, accessories, equipment, and related componentsMake pipe connections by sweating, leading, threading, screwing, bolting, or other approved methodsCalculate pipe sizes, connection requirements, and materials needed for assigned workInstall and test hydraulic, compressed air, fire sprinkler, steam, and other pressure systemsInstall and test sanitary plumbing fixtures and related systemsPerform functional tests to verify proper installation and system operationTroubleshoot major breakdowns, diagnose issues, and take corrective actionPerform work in accordance with trade practices, work orders, plumbing codes, and safety requirementsPerform all tasks incidental to pipefitting/plumbing maintenance workPerform other duties as assignedKey Responsibilities:Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing and piping systems and related componentsSupport safe and reliable operation of facility piping, plumbing, and pressure systemsRead and interpret blueprints, sketches, work orders, and applicable plumbing codesDetermine routing, placement, materials, and connection methods for piping systemsPerform system testing, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenanceWork safely and professionally in a team-oriented maintenance environmentSupport operational schedules, peak periods, and surge requirements as neededJob RequirementsMandatory:Minimum of 3 years of pipefitting, plumbing, or related maintenance experienceWorking knowledge of plumbing and piping systems, trade practices, and applicable plumbing codesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work ordersAbility to troubleshoot piping/plumbing system failures and perform corrective repairsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentRegular attendance in accordance with established work scheduleAbility to work outside normal schedules and adjust work hours to support operational requirementsAbility to obtain and maintain certifications required for the positionAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writingValid REAL ID driver's licenseAbility to obtain and maintain required NASA site access and credentialsAbility to pass required background screening and drug testingPreferred:Experience supporting NASA, Federal, or government contractor environmentsExperience working in industrial, facility maintenance, or mission-critical environmentsExperience with steam, compressed air, hydraulic, fire sprinkler, chemical, or pressure piping systemsWorking Conditions:Work performed in facility, industrial, and maintenance environmentsExposure to heat, cold, fumes, dirt, pipe waste, and active piping or plumbing systemsMay require work in confined, elevated, or awkward spacesPhysical Requirements:Requires some climbing and working in awkward positions.Necessitates considerable physical effort to move and position heavy materials and handle threading and cutting tools.DisclosuresChugach Government Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
