Journeyman Level Welder & PipefitterTesla is currently looking for a Journeyman level welder & pipefitter. This position will support the internal Self Perform Construction Team.ResponsibilitiesAssist with planning, material acquisition, coordination, and communication to ensure work completion while meeting project deadlines and cost goals without impacting ongoing productionRead, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other instructions to accurately create equipmentDesign and build basic and/or complex structures, supports, or frameworks as needed in daily tasksWeld using GMAW, MIG processes, and perform oxy/acetylene torch and plasma arc cuttingPerform all work in accordance with quality standards, established safety procedures, and support the installation, start-up, and commissioning of mechanical piping and equipment systemsEnthusiastically cross-train and support peers with project work outside of core skill sets, while identifying and communicating quality, safety, and productivity improvement opportunitiesAccurately log work hours, material consumption, and engage in training on new tools, systems, equipment, and proceduresRequirements1-3 years of MIG welding experience and operating in a similar capacity within a manufacturing or related facilityDemonstrated proficiency in construction pipefitting, with experience in piping systems, fitting installation, and knowledge of applicable codesCompletion of a skilled trade's certificate program or relevant military experience preferred; an Associate's Degree in Engineering or Technology is a plusExperience with Stainless Steel, Copper, PVC/CPVC, and Carbon Steel piping systems, with the ability to read drawings, shop, isometric, PID, and schematic diagramsWillingness to travel to other Tesla Facilities for support and to work outside of core trade when required to support changing business needsEvidence of exceptional ability in a large-scale industrial or manufacturing construction environmentAbility to lift up to 60 lbs. repetitively, work at elevations up to 50 ft. and command proficiency in both written and verbal EnglishCompensation & BenefitsBenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks program
