Job description
Pipe Layer PositionAt Knife River, we take care of our team because we know it's our people who make us successful. We are also a publicly traded company on the NYSE with the ticker symbol KNF and part of the S&P MidCap 400 index.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.Cover pipes with earth or other materials.Cut pipes to required lengths.Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching toolsGrade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand toolsInstall and repair water, stormwater & sewer structures and pipe systems.Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors.Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.Job requires steady to intermittent physical activity including standing, stooping kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven ground, shoveling, and rakingPerform other duties as directed by supervisorMinimum Qualifications:Must be willing to work flexible shiftsMust be willing to work in all weather conditionsValid driver's license but a CDL is a bonusMust pass a pre-employment drug screening and backgroundAt Knife River, we are committed to helping our military transition to civilian life.
