Job description
Pipeline WelderDescribe overall job purpose.Qualified candidates must possess knowledge, skills, and job experience in order to perform tasks and assignments associated with pipeline design, construction, operations, and maintenance of hazardous liquids pipeline systems. This position requires the individual to follow all company standards so that work tasks and assignments are completed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to completion of pipeline operations and maintenance tasks and projects in support of facility, pipeline, corrosion, measurement, controls, and engineering projects. Additional responsibilities may include heavy equipment operation, mowing, weed eating, painting, spill and emergency response, building maintenance, pipeline inspection, line locates, etc. Incumbents will be required to pass multiple company welding qualification tests according to API 1104 in addition to possessing and maintaining a valid state welding certification. This position requires a valid Class D driver's license and a clean driving record.Education RequirementsList any education, certifications, licenses, etc. required for the position.High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMust possess a valid state welding certificationMust possess knowledge, skills, and job-related experience to have completed a welding certification programExperience RequirementsMust have 2+ years' experience as a pipeline welder with knowledge of API 1104 welding regulationsEffective interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environmentAbility to work with a computer and interface with various levels of managementWork with blueprints, sketches, and diagramsKnowledge of transmission pipeline systems and pump stationsParticipation in the development of O & M procedures, site specific procedures, project scopes, and work plansHeavy equipment operations are a plusFluent in English, oral and written requiredAbility to adjust schedule to meet business needsMajor AccountabilitiesActions that define the elements of the job's overall purpose.Regularly communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns, and questionsMaintain Operator Qualifications on "Cover Tasks" to meet compliance with DOT regulationsResponsible for proper operation and maintenance of pipeline facilities in accordance with company procedures/standards and DOT regulationsMaintain and promote safe, healthy, and clean work environmentActively participate in safety committee or other team building groupsParticipate in DOT/PHMSA Drug and Alcohol Testing ProgramAll employees are expected to be proactive in the safety & environmental programsMust be able to respond immediately to emergency situations, repairs, and after-hours callsExpected ResultsResults or outcomes for which the job incumbent is responsible.Adherence to all company standards and proceduresClean driving record and maintain current valid driver's licensePossess leadership skills (i.e., relief supervisor contractor oversight, crew operations, etc.)Compliance responsibilities include performing regulatory procedures, equipment inspections, and accurate procedural documentationMust understand and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations including company standards and proceduresAbility to travel as neededApplicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
