Job description
The Shift Lead at Mattenga's is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations during assigned shifts. This role involves overseeing team performance, maintaining high standards for food quality and customer service, and providing confident leadership to foster a positive work environment. The ideal candidate balances hands-on responsibilities with effective team management to drive success.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:-Oversee daily shift operations, including opening, closing, and shift transitions-Maintain food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant-Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management-Ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly
Team Support & Supervision:-Guide and support team members during the shift-Delegate tasks effectively to maintain workflow and efficiency-Train new employees on procedures, system, and customer service expectations-Address minor performance or customer issues in real time
Customer Service:-Greet customers and ensure a welcoming, friendly environment-Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly-Maintain a high standard of hospitality, whether dine-in, takeout, or delivery
Required Qualifications
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze situations critically and develop effective solutions
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Previous experience in food service or hospitality
Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
Food Handler or Food Manager certification
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with restaurant management systems and POS software
Familiarity with basic inventory management
