Job description
Location: Tremonton, UT
Schedule: On-site 4 days per week
Salary: $120,000-150,000, depending on experience
Reports To: Director of Operational ControllingPlant Controller
We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to serve as a key financial business partner to plant leadership and Division Finance. This highly visible position will lead the plant's financial activities while supporting operational performance, profitability, compliance, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, financial planning, and team leadership with the ability to work closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities
Lead plant financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting
Ensure accurate financial statements and compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Partner with Plant Leadership and Division Finance on business objectives and strategic planning
Analyze plant financial and operational performance and provide actionable recommendations
Monitor costs, variances, KPIs, and profitability
Identify and drive cost-saving and operational efficiency initiatives
Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory optimization
Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to align financial and operational goals
Evaluate and support capital expenditure projects and business cases
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure SOX compliance
Coordinate and support internal and external audits
Drive financial process improvement, standardization, and best practices
Lead, coach, and develop the plant finance team
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience
Manufacturing or automotive industry experience strongly preferred
5+ years of financial leadership/team management experience
Strong experience with manufacturing cost accounting
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, variance analysis, and financial reporting
Experience with inventory accounting and plant operations
Knowledge of internal controls, SOX, and audit requirements
Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical, communication, and business-partnering skills
Fluent in English
Ability to work on-site in Tremonton 4 days per week
