Job description
As the Plant Manager , you will oversee all operations of the Barberton, OH and Darien, WI facilities. You will ensure efficient production, compliance with industry standards and plant-wide safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. You will identify and lead continuous improvement projects.
You will be on-site in Barberton, OH and will report to the Director of Industrial Coatings Operations. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics and ensure adherence to customer specifications
Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA PSM and environmental regulations
Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all teams
Oversee quality control systems to meet ISO 9000 requirements
Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement programs
Improve and ensure production schedules meet customer delivery requirements
Monitor indicators for throughput, scrap rates, and downtime; implement cost-saving measures
Lead, coach, and guide development of plant staff to achieve performance goals.
Foster a collaborative and performance culture
Ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and quality performance.
Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs
Identify opportunities for productivity and OEE improvements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
10+ years of experience managing plant operations and large teams
Demonstrated track record in managing a unionized workforce and handling collective bargaining, grievances, and industrial relations
Experience in specialty materials manufacturing including microporous substrates, polymer films, membranes, or other engineered sheet products is highly desirable
Experience in phosgene-derived specialty chemical products is highly desirable
