Job description
Plasma/Laser Cutting OperatorThe Plasma/Laser Cutting Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating plasma and laser cutting equipment to manufacture parts that meet quality, dimensional, and production requirements. This position reads blueprints, loads and positions material, monitors cutting operations, inspects completed parts, performs routine maintenance, and follows all safety procedures. This role works closely with fabrication and production personnel to ensure accurate and efficient processing of materials.Responsibilities and DutiesRead and interpret technical drawings and specificationsLoad and position metal plates, sheets, or structural materialSet up plasma or laser cutting machinesRun cutting programsMonitor cut quality, kerf width, and material utilizationPerform basic machine maintenanceVerify parts against drawings and specificationsSafely rig, load, and transport heavy materials as required.Ensure all work is completed in a safe and efficient mannerQualifications2-5 years of CNC plasma cutting, laser cutting, fabrication, or related manufacturing experience preferred.Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes.Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsUnderstanding of cutting parametersMaterial thickness and metal characteristicsQuality inspection of cut partsPrecision measurement (calipers, micrometers, gauges)Understanding machine parameters, cut quality optimization, and consumable usage.Quality control and troubleshootingAttention to detail and ability to work with precisionFamiliarity with operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and material-handling equipment.Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectivelyBenefits401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insurance
