Job description
Plate MounterThe Plate Mounter is responsible for accurately mounting flexographic plates on cylinders/sleeves for printing operations, ensuring quality standards are met while maintaining efficiency and safety. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting overall production goals. This position reports to the Prepress Supervisor/Manager.Key Responsibilities:Mount, repair, and adjust flexographic printing plates onto cylinders and sleeves with precisionInspect plates for defects, damage, and quality issues before and after mountingClean, strip, and process plate components following established proceduresManage plate inventory, storage, and organization systemsMonitor and adhere to daily mounting schedules and production timelinesVerify job specifications, measurements, and documentation accuracyMaintain work area cleanliness and safety standards at all timesInput accurate data and job information into PRISM systemTroubleshoot mounting issues and implement corrective solutionsProvide support to press department operations and requirementsFollow DTM cleaning procedures and 5S Schedule consistentlyOther Duties as definedEducation & Experience :High school diploma or equivalent preferredRequired Skills:Basic math skillsAbility to read and interpret job specificationsExperience with precision measuring instrumentsMechanical aptitudeComputer proficiency (PRISM, Excel, Access)Attention to detailProblem-solving abilitiesStrong organizational and time management abilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independentlyUnderstanding of safety protocolsAbility to prioritize competing demandsExcellent customer service orientationCommitment to waste reductionAdditional Requirements:Must be 18 years of ageMust pass pre-employment assessmentDrug screening requiredBackground check requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Flexographic printing processesPlate mounting techniquesQuality control proceduresSafety protocolsMeasurement systemsComputer systemsPlate mounting and positioningQuality inspectionTechnical problem-solvingMathematical calculationsEquipment operationDocumentationTime managementPhysical Demands: The associate will primarily work in a office environment with some exposure to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to :Standing for extended periodsLifting up to 50 poundsBending, reaching, and stretchingFine motor skills for detailed workVisual acuity for quality inspectionManual dexterityAbility to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)Travel Requirements : NoneWork Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a office type setting with some need to go into the manufacturing setting with exposure to:Climate-controlled workspaceExposure to typical manufacturing environmentNoise levels above 85 dBOperation of complex machineryExposure to chemicals and adhesivesMay require nights, weekends, holidays or overtimeAn additional $2.50/ hr premium for hours worked on NIGHT Shift only (qualifying hours vary by location).Additional Internal Requirements:Must demonstrate Core ValuesMust be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issuesMust have performer or higher rating in last reviewDemonstrated sense of urgency in production recovery situationsPrintpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
