With its most recent acquisitions, Heroux-Devtek is bolstering its status as one of the foremost landing gear, actuation, and hydraulic system designers and manufacturers in the global aerospace industry.Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek's centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17, and C-130. With a strong focus on the latest technology of manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques, we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.What We Offer:Leaders who invest in your success, development, and growthA culture of true teamwork and pride in our productCompetitive salaries linked to performance and paid time off11 paid holidaysA comprehensive group insurance plan including HSA/FSA options, Dental & VisionSupportive wellness program, including healthcare discountsAutomatic Life Insurance with supplemental optionsShort and Long Term Disability InsuranceOpportunities for retirement savings with 401k plans including a company matchTuition reimbursement for relevant Certifications, Education, & TrainingsFree access to a virtual doctor and the employee assistance programSocial activities for all employees (BBQ, Golf, Christmas parties, etc.)Generous referral bonuses and advantageous recognition programsA motivating work environment and a human management style where you can make a differenceSummary:The Plater prepares, maintains, and operates chrome, nickel, and cadmium tanks using both dip and electroplating on commercial and military landing gear parts.Main Responsibilities:Plating and electro-plating parts with Hard chrome, Cadmium-titanium, and Sulfamate nickel, using the following processes:Surface Preparation:Grit blastMasking of parts (tapes, lacquers, and wax)Cleaning of surfacesPlating Processes:Hard chromeCadmium-titaniumSulfamate nickelBrush PlatingPost Plating:CleaningBakingStripping of plating (chrome, nickel, cadmium)Read and apply work instructions, blueprints, or other instructional documentation.Install conforming plating anodes on parts.Measure surfaces before and after plating with dial gauges, O.D micro-meters, and magnetic induction thickness measurement instruments.Utilize ceiling lift, fork lift, or similar to transport parts into plating tanks, ovens, machining deptDocument and maintain traceability for all parts per AS9100 and other quality requirements.Evaluate plating problems and suggest solutions.Work with process specialists and management to continuously improve processes to optimize production times and quality.Our Ideal Candidate:Experience with plating processes (chrome, nickel, cadmium) and preparatory processes is desired but not obligatory.Knowledge of applying masking and lead tapes is desired but not obligatory.Experience using conforming anodes in plating processes is desired but not obligatory.Experience in a manufacturing environment.Skilled at blueprint interpretation.Competent in the use and setting of hand gauges.Work Culture and Environment:Are you known as an innovation driver?
