GMP Manufacturing Technician 1 (Solid Dose)This is a full-time, onsite, GMP Manufacturing Technician 1 (Solid Dose) position located in Norristown, PA, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00 per hourThe salary for this position reflects a variety of factors. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. Market conditions, budgetary considerations, and organizational compensation guidelines may also influence the final offer.SummaryThe GMP Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for executing and supporting manufacturing, dispensing, and packaging operations for solid dose products (e.g., tablets, capsules, powders) in a current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) environment.This role ensures all activities are performed in compliance with batch records, SOPs, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining high standards of data integrity, quality, and safety. The technician will operate and maintain solid dose manufacturing equipment and collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Facilities teams.Key Responsibilities:Perform dispensing, blending, granulation, compression, encapsulation, coating, and/or packaging of solid dose productsExecute GMP manufacturing activities in accordance with batch production records and SOPsDocument all manufacturing activities accurately in batch records and logbooks in compliance with GDP (Good Documentation Practices)Operate and clean solid dose equipment such as:Blenders (V-blenders, bin blenders)Granulators (high shear/fluid bed)Tablet presses and encapsulatorsCoating equipmentSieves/mills and packaging linesGMP Compliance & Quality:Adhere to all cGMP, FDA, and internal quality standardsEnsure all documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-readyIdentify and report deviations, and support investigations and CAPA activitiesAssist in SOP development, revision, and continuous improvement initiativesEquipment & Facility Support:Perform equipment setup, changeover, and basic troubleshootingPartner with Maintenance/Engineering on preventive maintenance and repairsEnsure proper cleaning and line clearance to maintain compliance and prevent cross-contaminationTeam Support:Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams including QA, QC, and FacilitiesContribute to process efficiency improvements and lean manufacturing initiativesQualifications, Education & ExperienceAssociate degree or technical certification in a science or engineering-related field preferredOR High School diploma with relevant experience1–2 years of GMP manufacturing experience, preferably in solid dose / small molecule productionStrong understanding of:cGMP regulationsSolid dose manufacturing processes and equipmentBatch records, SOPs, and documentation practicesFamiliarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing environments (oral solid dosage forms preferred)Skills & CompetenciesAbility to operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipmentStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyMechanical aptitude and basic math skillsEffective communication and teamwork skillsAbility to follow detailed procedures in a regulated environmentPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
