PlumberIowa City Community School DistrictDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Current plumber license from the State of IowaAbility to size, specify, design, cost estimate, order and install all types of plumbing parts and equipmentExperience in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing commercial plumbing systemsExperience in gas pipe installations, sprinkler systems, outside irrigation systems, and public water systemsKnowledge of local and state codes and industry standardsMust have a backflow license or be able to obtain one with the first year of employmentAlternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable per Crafts Classification LevelAbility to communicate effectively with others, both verbal and writtenMaintain a current, valid driver's licenseExperience with computers and emailREPORTS TO: Craft's ManagerSUPERVISES: N/AJOB GOALS: Under the supervision of the Craft's Manager, direct the renovation, repair, and maintenance of all plumbing systems in the district as well perform the duties to accomplish this in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform the work of department plumbing technicianDiagnose, repair, design or replace all district plumbing fixtures, equipment and systems including but not limited to hand washer, water heaters and sprinkler systemsDiagnose, repair, design or replace all district gas pipe systemsAbility to use all plumbing trade standard equipmentManage, inspect and report on work performed by service contractors related fieldWork with authorities having jurisdiction to satisfy inspection requirementsAssist in the design of renovation, upgrade and remodeling projects in coordination with other departmentsAssists with general plumbing operations as neededMaintain a safe work environmentShall be able to respond to critical needs at any time of day or night, extending beyond a typical work day in coordination with other technicians.Member of the district snow teamOther duties as assignedPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, and continuous standingMay be exposed to dust, dirt, chemicals, fumes, inclement weather and UV raysWork is both indoors and outdoorsMust be physically and medically able to wear respiratory protectionTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Twelve-month year, wages and calendar year to be established by the Board of EducationEVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District's policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
