Job description
PlumberIndependently performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and repair tasks. Installs and repairs piping systems, valves, and fixtures. Technicians support the department diagnosing issues and provide solutions; while mentoring Tradesman team members on projects and general maintenance. Core responsibilities and essential functions include:Performs skilled plumbing maintenance, repair, and installation work in a hospital setting, ensuring system reliability and safety.Troubleshoots and repairs plumbing fixtures, drains, and water supply systems.Performs preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and water heaters.Assists with medical gas and hydronic system repairs under supervision.Responds to work orders and emergencies promptly.Installs and repairs water lines, sanitary lines, and related components.Reads and interprets plumbing blueprints and schematics.Maintains tools and inventory for assigned work areas.Promotes proper system testing, maintenance, and documentation in compliance with DNV standards.Completes all activities in compliance with codes and regulatory standards.All other plumbing duties as assigned.Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Completion of plumbing apprenticeship or technical program. Experience: Required: 3 years of experience performing plumbing work in commercial or institutional settings. Preferred: 3 years of healthcare experience. Position requirement(s): License/certification/registration required: Valid Driver's License. Preferred: Post-secondary training or certification in plumbing or related field.
