Job description
PlumberThe Plumber is responsible for installing, modifying, maintaining, and commissioning plumbing systems in commercial and residential applications. This position performs work involving water supply, drainage, piping, gas systems, fixtures, boilers, water heaters, hydronic heating systems, and related plumbing components. The ideal candidate is experienced in plumbing installation and service and works effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, modify, and connect plumbing systems and componentsInstall and assemble piping systems using materials including copper, PEX, PVC, CPVC, black iron, and other approved materialsInstall water supply, drainage, waste, vent, and gas piping systems as requiredInstall and connect plumbing fixtures, water heaters, boilers, pumps, and related equipmentPerform plumbing work associated with HVAC and hydronic heating systems as requiredRead and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, technical drawings, and manufacturer specificationsPerform system layout, measurements, and material planningEnsure all installations meet applicable plumbing and gas codes, manufacturer requirements, and company safety standardsPressure test and inspect systems for leaks, proper operation, and code complianceTroubleshoot plumbing systems and identify problems or required repairsCoordinate with HVAC technicians, electricians, project managers, and other trades to complete work efficientlyCommunicate professionally with customers regarding plumbing work, installation details, and project requirements when neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaProperly use and maintain tools, equipment, and company vehiclesComplete required job documentation accurately and on timeFollow all company safety policies and required PPE practicesSupport other Plumbing Department needs as assignedQualificationsValid plumbing license or Journeyman Plumber license, as required by applicable state or local regulationsValid NH Gas license preferred or required for applicable work3+ years of plumbing installation and/or service experience preferredExperience with commercial plumbing preferredKnowledge of applicable plumbing, gas, and mechanical codesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical plansStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces, on ladders, and in other challenging work environmentsValid driver's license with clean driving recordPreferred SkillsExperience with commercial plumbing systemsExperience installing and servicing boilers and water heatersExperience with hydronic heating systemsExperience with indirect water heaters and pumpsExperience with radiant floor heating systemsBrazing and soldering proficiencyBackflow certification, if applicableOSHA or other applicable safety trainingHVAC-related plumbing experienceExperience troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systemsWork EnvironmentCommercial and residential job sitesIndoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditionsFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbingMay require working in confined spaces, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, attics, and other restricted areasMay require use of ladders, lifts, and other approved means of accessExposure to plumbing systems, mechanical equipment, tools, construction environments, and varying jobsite conditionsPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required as appropriate for the work environmentCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly wage based on experience and qualificationsOvertime opportunitiesCompany vehicle, if applicableHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysOngoing training and professional developmentCareer advancement opportunities within the Plumbing Department
