COO - OPS - Institutions OperationsPlumber II (S)Position Number: Grade: NC08The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!Description of WorkReporting to the Maintenance Supervisor at a multi-custody female correctional facility, this position provides facility maintenance support predominantly in the trade area of plumbing. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: performing journey level duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems; performing routine work assignments based on the nature of the location of the needed repair with assignments involving work of special or unusual nature are accompanied by specific instructions; exercising considerable independence in performance of routine work while unprecedented assignments are usually discussed with or supervised by foreman; reviewing work through inspection of work in progress and on the basis of satisfactory operation of equipment repaired or installed.Compensation and BenefitsHealth Insurance optionsRetirement PlansNCFlex Supplemental BenefitsPaid Vacation, Sick, and Community Service LeavePaid Parental LeaveVisit the State Benefits website for additional information.Salary Range: $39,244 - $68,679This posting will close at 11:59 p.m. the night BEFORE the end date listed above.This is a REPOST. Anson CI offers a wide variety of educational, vocational, and training programs. Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson, a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE). Family and friends can order a package of goods from a pre-approved shopping list to send to an offender. Orders are packaged by offenders and shipped quarterly.
