Job description
Plumbing JourneymanA plumbing journeyman is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in residential settings.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation and Repair: Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures and systems, including pipes, water heaters, and drainage systems.Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems.Troubleshooting: Diagnose plumbing issues, conduct inspections, and identify leaks, blockages, and other problems.Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.Client Communication: Communicate with Master Plumber to explain plumbing issues, provide cost estimates, and ensure satisfaction.Mentorship: Oversee and mentor apprentice plumbers and less experienced workers.Required Skills and QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program in plumbing.Licensing: Valid journeyman plumber license is required.Experience: Typically requires 3-5 years of experience in the plumbing field.Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and materials; ability to troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues effectively.Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.Communication Skills: Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact with clients and explain plumbing issues clearly.Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance with plumbing codes and regulations.
