Job description
Plumber Master -Level 4Responsible for the inspection, repair and installation of plumbing equipment for PISD. Qualifications include a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, a valid Texas Driver's License, and meeting and maintaining insurance requirements of PISD. Must possess and maintain a Texas State Journeyman Plumbing License, pass drug tests, and be part of a random drug testing program. Must also pass a criminal history check. Knowledge and developed skill in all phases of plumbing installation and repair, ability to read blueprints and interpret diagrams, skilled in the maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of the trade. Minimum of five years plumbing experience preferred. Performs repairs of plumbing equipment, installs, tests and repairs gas piping and connections, performs troubleshooting procedures and repair on gas operated equipment, removes blockages from sanitary sewer lines, repairs and/or replaces lift pumps, booster pumps and submersibles. Must be able to perform necessary paper work to process work orders, have a working knowledge of computer systems in regards to email, work order and time entry systems, participates in the preparation of cost estimates, material orders and records maintenance, operates excavating equipment, backhoe, trackhoe, skid-steer, etc, tests and repair backflow devices. Must have a working knowledge of computer systems in regards to email, work order and time entry systems, must be willing to respond to occasional after hour emergencies. Performs other duties as directed. Equipment used includes pipe vises and portable stands, pipe cutters, burring reamers, pipe wrenches, flaring tools, various sealing compounds, pipe dies and taps, tube benders, impact tools, electrical power tools associated with the trade; sewer cleaning machines pro press tools, soldering torch, trash pumps. Working conditions include physical demands such as working from ladders and elevated platforms, lifting heavy items and digging ditches. Environmental demands include working in dirty areas, outside in undesirable weather conditions, exposure to noise and vibration; exposure to direct sunlight, high temperature and high humidity. Occasionally works in a well-lighted, air conditioned building. Work environment includes electrical hazards.
