Job description
Plumber Commercial ConstructionThis role focuses on commercial construction plumbing for projects such as apartment complexes and commercial buildings within approximately one hour of Cleveland. You will install and run water, drain, gas, and storm lines, as well as various fixtures and mechanical connections, while working with a range of piping materials in both above-ground and underground applications. The schedule runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch and a 15-minute morning break.ResponsibilitiesInstall and run water and drain lines for new commercial construction projects, including apartment complexes and commercial buildings.Lay out and install sanitary drain lines, storm lines, and roof drains to meet project specifications and code requirements.Install gas lines, including gas lines to furnaces and other mechanical equipment, ensuring safe and compliant connections.Install hot water tanks and associated piping, fittings, and connections.Install plumbing fixtures and related components in newly constructed spaces based on plans and instructions.Work with PVC, copper, cast iron, and other piping materials to assemble, fit, and secure plumbing systems.Perform underground plumbing work, including trenching, setting lines, and backfilling as required.Use Propress tools and soldering techniques to join and secure piping systems.Interpret plans or be shown a room and independently determine how and where to run plumbing lines.Use basic hand tools such as tape measures, levels, and wrenches to measure, align, and secure piping and fixtures.Travel to and work at commercial construction sites within approximately one hour of Cleveland, following site safety and project guidelines.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and adhere to all required personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.Essential SkillsPrior experience running water and drain lines in new construction projects, particularly in commercial construction environments.Demonstrated ability to be shown a room or layout and independently plan and install plumbing lines.Hands-on experience installing sanitary drain lines, storm lines, gas lines, hot water tanks, and roof drains.Proficiency working with PVC, copper, cast iron, and related piping materials.Ability to perform underground plumbing work, including installation and alignment of buried piping.Experience using Propress tools and performing soldering on plumbing systems.Reliable transportation to travel to various commercial construction sites within the designated region.Commitment to a long-term career in plumbing and willingness to grow within the trade.Capability to read, follow, and execute instructions and layouts provided on site.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in commercial construction plumbing and exposure to HVAC-related piping work.Comfort using basic tools such as tape measures, levels, and wrenches for accurate layout and installation.Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure clean, accurate, and code-compliant installations.Dependable work habits, including punctuality and consistent attendance.Willingness to receive training and adopt new methods, tools, and best practices in plumbing.Why Work Here?You will join a stable team that offers a clear path from a 9-month contract to a potential long-term role, providing consistent work on ongoing commercial projects. You will work both indoors and outdoors, including underground and elevated areas, and regularly handle materials such as PVC, copper, and cast iron using tools like tape measures, levels, and wrenches. The position requires wearing appropriate PPE; steel-toe boots and jeans are expected, while safety vests, hard hats, and high-visibility gear are provided as needed. The environment is fast-paced and construction-focused, with an emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adherence to site procedures.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Medina, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
