Plumber for Landscape Design Build TeamAt Merrifield Garden Center, we strive to provide an unparalleled selection of the highest quality plants and gardening products. We are dedicated to continuous education and sharing our gardening guidance with employees and customers alike. Founded in 1971, Merrifield Garden Center is a family run, full-service garden center, nursery, and landscaping company with two locations in Northern Virginia and an extended family of over 500 employees.We are looking for a friendly and reliable person to join our landscape design build team as a plumber. This position requires at least five years of experience, a driver's license and a safe driving record.Some of the primary responsibilities include:Designing, scoping and installing landscape irrigation systems.Residential and light commercial system maintenance.Working with the team of Merrifield designers to collaborate on irrigation systems and sell the ideas to clients.Installation of gas piping and gas fittings for outdoor fire features.Meeting prospective clients at their homes to discuss plans and verbally sharing initial concepts during the walk through.Formulating a design for the client based on the initial meeting. Coordinating with other team members and suppliers to determine project details and scope.The ideal candidate must possess the following:At least five years of experience as a plumberExperience installing PVC, copper, PEX and other piping materialsKnowledge of gas fittingA driver's license and a clean driving recordFriendly, respectful, professional attitudeStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to stand or be physically active for hours at a timeAbility to lift heavy objectsMerrifield Garden Center is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
