Plumber - Nebraska State Penitentiary (Open)The Nebraska State Penitentiary is seeking someone skilled in building maintenance, with a knack for getting broken facility plumbing items back to working condition. Additional $3/hour facility differential for hours worked. For additional information call . For Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, please contact Megan Jones at :Install, alter, repair, and maintain pipe systems above, below, and within structures (walls, floors, ceilings, etc.).Work with plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, water heaters, faucets, and kitchen/laundry equipment.Maintain and repair components like traps, vents, drains, siphons, pumps, valves, and shock arrestors.Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to identify and correct deficiencies.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications; sketch plumbing layouts.Estimate time, materials, and cost for work orders; requisition necessary supplies.Install and maintain fire protection sprinkler systems, sewage systems, and water treatment facilities.Repair and adjust mechanical equipment including water/steam pumps, compressors, and fuel storage systems.Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.Train and guide helpers and apprentices in plumbing techniques and safety procedures.Requirements / QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Training and experience in the plumbing trade.Other: Must be willing to be on call 4-5 times throughout the year.
