ABOUT BUILDING MANAGEMENT PARTNERS (BMP)
Building Management Partners, a division of Paul Hemmer Company, provides comprehensive facilities maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, and repair services to commercial clients throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Plumbing Division Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and managing BMP’s plumbing operations, including service calls, small projects, field technicians, customer relationships, and financial performance. This role ensures the division operates efficiently, delivers exceptional service, and supports ongoing growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who understands commercial plumbing, excels in team leadership, and thrives in a fast‑paced service environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
Manage daily plumbing operations, including repairs, troubleshooting, installations, and emergency service.
Oversee scheduling, dispatching, and workflow to optimize productivity and timely service delivery.
Ensure all work meets BMP and PHC standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Support coordination with HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and other BMP service teams.
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise plumbing technicians and provide coaching, direction, and accountability.
Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing training.
Conduct ride‑alongs, quality checks, and routine performance check‑ins.
Promote a positive, collaborative team environment that reflects PHC’s and BMP’s core values.
Customer Relationships
Serve as a primary point of contact for key plumbing service accounts.
Manage customer communication, job updates, and follow‑up to ensure satisfaction.
Address escalated service issues promptly and professionally.
Build long‑term relationships to support recurring business and referral opportunities.
Estimating & Financial Management
Assist in estimating and preparing proposals for service work and small plumbing projects.
Review job costing, labor hours, materials usage, and profitability.
Monitor division KPIs including revenue, margins, response times, and technician productivity.
Develop and manage division budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes, OSHA standards, and PHC/BMP safety programs.
Maintain required licenses, certifications, and continuing education for staff.
Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks and consistent field engagement.
Strategic Division Growth
Identify emerging service opportunities and pricing strategies.
Provide leadership input on staffing needs, equipment investments, and process improvements.
Collaborate with leadership to expand BMP’s plumbing presence in the region.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of commercial plumbing experience; Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana Master Plumber license strongly preferred.
2+ years in a supervisory, lead technician, or management role.
Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and service operations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and customer‑service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a high‑volume service environment.
Comfortable with technology (work order systems, mobile devices, scheduling tools).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
