Plumbing TechnicianPay Scale: Pay per hour, based on skills and experience. Particulars can be discussed during the interview.Plumbing Technician Qualifications:Valid drivers licenseAbility to use tools of the trade, including but not limited to plumbing snakes, augers, drills, saws, hammers, measuring tape, levels, and screwdriversExcellent written and verbal skillsWilling to work in all types of weatherAbility to follow all safety policies and proceduresExcellent math skillsAbility to read blueprints and schematicsAbility to handle the physical workload and perform physical labor for extended periods of time.Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skillsAdvanced customer service skillsOperate equipment in a safe mannerPlumbing Technician Responsibilities:Bid jobs for customersDraft and approve contracts to perform workRemoving, replacing, installing, or repairing all types of plumbing fixtures such as water closets, sinks, drinking fountains, showers, kitchen, laboratory, and other heating, water, or drainage systems according to plumbing codesAssemble and install valve and fittingsTest pipe systems and fixtures for leaksEnsure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are metDig trenches when neededHaul equipment to and from the work site from the work truckTake inventory and track how many materials are for each jobCommunicate with all customers in a positive and professional mannerWork with customers to make recommendations on the purchase of new equipmentDiagnosing malfunctions, repair and maintenance of plumbing and piping systems, including clearing plugged waste linesCut, fit, fabricate, and assemble a wide variety of articles, materials, and devices, including steel, copper, brass, glass, plastic, cast iron, corrosion-resistant pip, tile, and concreteEnsure all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and gradedEnsure all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet the requirements of all applicable codesDrive motor vehicle as requiredLead apprentices or helpers as assignedRead and interpret blueprints, plans, and sketchesMaintain professional appearance at all timesRun after hours calls as requiredOther duties as assigned
