Role Description The Podiatrist is a full-time, on-site role located in Bloomfield, CT, responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions. Surgical and nonsurgical podiatrists are welcome to apply. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting patient examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and performing in-office procedures, foot and ankle surgeries, and caring for hospitalized patients. Candidate is expexted to particispte in the residency program as an attending surgeon. The role also involves prescribing orthotics and other therapeutic devices, managing diabetic foot care, and providing ongoing care for biomechanical and musculoskeletal issues.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Medicine and Podiatry, with the ability to diagnose and manage diverse foot and ankle conditions.
Knowledge of Biomechanics and Orthotics for assessing gait, designing treatment plans, and prescribing appropriate support devices.
Experience in Diabetes-related foot care, including risk assessment, ulcer prevention, and wound management.
Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution and completion of a podiatric residency program.
Current and unrestricted Connecticut podiatric license (or eligibility to obtain) and applicable board certification or board eligibility.
Proficiency in performing office-based podiatric procedures and foot and ankle surgery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, patient-centered clinical environment.
Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, ethical practice, and adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines.
