Beaufort Police Cadet OfficerThe Town of Beaufort is currently accepting applications for the position of full time Cadet Police Officer. The Police Department embraces the concept of community policing while providing police services to include traffic and criminal law enforcement, emergency response, investigations, and special events. The Department serves a public of approximately 4,300 permanent residents and a summer population that swells to over 10,000 residents, visitors and summer guests. The Town of Beaufort offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 5% 401k contribution, optional 457b supplemental retirement, immediate vacation credit of 84 hours, salary step program, free gym membership, and a take-home vehicle program.Candidates must complete a pre-hire process that will include a background investigation, physical and drug test. The selected candidate will also have to complete the Department's orientation and field training program prior to permanent sworn assignment. All applicants must be eligible for immediate placement in a Basic Law Enforcement Training program. All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and valid North Carolina driver's license at the time of appointment.
