Police OfficerCity of Bowie police officers are charged with maintaining order, protecting life and property, and upholding the laws of the State of Maryland and the ordinances of the City of Bowie. Must perform regularly assigned duties under General Orders.Minimum Qualifications: • 21 years or older upon graduation from the Academy; • High school diploma or GED equivalent; • U.S. citizen; • Valid Maryland Driver's license; • Must pass physical agility test, written exam, background check, and drug screening.COVID-19 vaccination is strongly preferredEntry-Level Rate: $30.41 per hour ($63,258.54 annually)Lateral Officers may be eligible to start at up to $39.43 per hour ($82,009.71 annually) upon approval from the Chief of PoliceApplication Deadline: Open Until FilledEligible for hiring bonuses upon start of FTOHalf is paid upon start of FTO; remainder is paid upon the next hire date anniversaryThe City of Bowie is a drug and alcohol testing employer.The City of Bowie, Maryland is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at all levels of the governmental structure.
