Police Officer-RecruitThis position is within the Wayne Police Department. Police Recruits will attend the Police Academy full-time. Upon graduation from the Police Academy, recruits will transition to the Police Officer position.The Wayne Police Department is in southeast Michigan, just north of Detroit Metropolitan Airport. We are a six-square-mile city bordered by Westland, Canton, and Romulus.The Wayne Police Department is a seven-day-a-week department, working 12-hour shifts. The 12-hour shift schedule provides officers with a three-day weekend every other weekend. The Wayne Police Department has multiple special units, including Detective Bureau, K9, Accident Investigation, Quick Response Team, School Resource Officer, and Drone Team.The Wayne Police Department has a relaxed tattoo and facial hair policy. We allow external vest carriers. We have an on-site gym and gun range.Pay for the Police Recruit Position is $20.10 / hour. Overtime pay is authorized during academy training.
