The Torrance Police Department features many specialized details that play a critical role in the overall effectiveness of the Department, including Patrol - K-9 - Motor Detail - SWAT Detectives - Vice & Narcotics - Field Training Officer - Drone Detail Background Investigator - School Resource Officer - Gang InvestigationsSalary During the Police Academy, Torrance Police Officer Recruits / Trainees are paid $7,280 per month plus the City contributes up to $ per month for family health care coverage and a one-time uniform allowance of $850.
