Police OfficerPosition pay will start near or at Top Step.Required QualificationsMust possess a valid CA POST Academy CertificateMust have completed a CA POST Certified FTO ProgramMust possess a CA Basic Post CertificateThe Ideal CandidateHigh School Diploma or GED equivalency; higher education preferredValid California driver's license and a safe driving record21 years of age at time of appointmentAbility to write clear and comprehensive reports and communicate effectively orallySpanish bilingual skill highly desirableAbility to skillfully and effectively deal with various racial, ethnic and economic groupsAbility to work under physical and mental pressures and in potentially hazardous situations as determined by a pre-employment psychological examWillingness to work night shifts and weekendsPhysical health, strength, stature and agility to meet physical demands of police work as determined by an agility test and a pre-employment physical examVision correctable to 20/30 in each eye.
