Polypipe Fusion AssemblerAt McElroy, we're looking for dependable, mechanically minded individuals who enjoy solving problems, working with their hands, and taking pride in a job done right. If you like assembling equipment, learning new tools, and building piping systems that keep critical infrastructure running, you'll fit right in.As a Polypipe Fusion Assembler, you'll work in a clean, climate-controlled shop using advanced fusion technology to build high-quality plastic pipe systems. You don't need decades of experience — just solid mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to doing precise, reliable work.What You'll DoMeasure, cut, clean, and prep plastic pipe and fittingsFace and align pipe ends to meet fusion standardsConfirm material specs and dimensions before assemblySet up and operate butt, socket, and sidewall fusion equipmentMonitor temperature, pressure, and cycle times for proper fusionPerform fusion operations to create strong, leak-free jointsAssemble piping systems to match drawings, specs, and customer requirementsUse the DataLogger® to record fusion data and upload to the Vault®Spot quality issues and help resolve themFollow all safety procedures and use required PPEParticipate in safety training and help maintain a safe workspaceWhat You BringHigh school diploma or GED (technical/vocational training is a plus)Ability to read blueprints and visualize 3D layoutsBasic understanding of mechanical systems; fusion experience is helpful but not requiredComfortable operating and troubleshooting mechanical/hydraulic equipmentBasic computer skills for viewing digital drawings and entering dataStrong work ethic, communication skills, and reliabilityWillingness to travel occasionally for on-site equipment setup or repairsWork EnvironmentHands-on role with frequent standing, bending, and squattingClimate-controlled shop and warehouse environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs; lifting devices available when possibleSome work in tight or confined spaces around equipmentWhy You'll Love Working HereStable, full-time work with a respected industry leaderModern, clean, climate-controlled workspaceOpportunities to learn specialized fusion skills and grow your careerA team that values craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvementSafety-Sensitive Designation: Jobs which involve one or more tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others are considered safety sensitive.
