nOur Corporate Pharmacy provides medication services to clients across multiple programs and locations, ensuring they receive safe, effective, and high-quality pharmaceutical care tailored to their unique needs. As a Pool Pharmacist, you will be responsible for supporting pharmacy operations as needed, helping to maintain continuity of care and exceptional service for our clients.
nWorking closely with prescribers, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary care teams, you will use your clinical expertise to optimize medication therapy, promote patient safety, and enhance health outcomes. nEssential Job Functions:

nnnInterprets prescribers' prescriptions and enters prescription and patient data into the computer system.
n
nnChecks for drug interactions and allergies.
n
nnProvides Pharmacy Technician prescription information and supervises filling of the same.
n
nnVerifies prescriptions after being filled by the Pharmacy Technician
n
nnCounsels case managers and clients over the phone and in person. Conveys pertinent information regarding the use of medications and potential interactions. Ensures the client understands the medication treatment program.
n
nnConsult with other health care professionals and researches to ensure that all services are in the best interest of the patient and conform to established professional standards and applicable state laws.
n
nnCompare product prices with competitors to gauge competitiveness and profitability.
n
nnReviews inventory on a daily basis. Places orders for medication as necessary.
n
nnMaintains an appropriate level of supplies.
n
nnEncourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
n
nnAttends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training seminars and conferences as required.
n
nnWorks in partnership with the quality department to develop appropriate measures in support of program outcomes.

nnParticipates in department quality planning activities, (e.g. continuous improvement, Logic models, performance metrics, etc.,)

nnPerforms special assignments and or projects as assigned.

n nQualifications
nRequired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)
nMinimum Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited college or university
nMinimum Required Experience: Experience working in a long-term care or mail order facility is preferred.
nRequired License - Certification - Registration:
nIssued By Governing Body (if applicable): Registered Pharmacist license with the State of Wisconsin required.

nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
nnnMust have high attention to detail and strong mathematical skills.

nnMust be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
n
nnProfessional workplace appearance and conduct; friendliness and courtesy to clients, coworkers, and vendors.

nnExperience with the FrameworkLTC pharmacy computer system is preferred.
n
nnPrevious experience in providing health care services to the disabled is desirable.
n
nnExperience working with those with severe and persistent mental illnesses is desirable.
n
nnUnderstanding of the prescription billing process from adjudication through reconciliation is desirable.
n
nnPrevious experience with pharmacy automation including system interfaces desirable.

n nPhysical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:
nPhysical Requirements: This position works in a fast-paced office setting and frequently utilizes various office equipment including, but not limited to, a personal computer, multi-line telephone, printers, and office copier. On occasion must be able to push/pull/lift/move objects weighing at least 10 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive fine motor skill-based tasks.
nVisual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal. Ability to see objects at close vision and be able to identify and distinguish colors.
nWorking Conditions: None: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
