Job description
Calpine Corporation seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer III to support reliable, lower-carbon power generation across its natural gas and geothermal fleet. In this role, you will design, analyze, and optimize electrical systems, perform power system studies, and support plant operations with troubleshooting and reliability improvements. You will develop and review single-line diagrams, equipment specs, and protection schemes, ensuring compliance with safety, NERC, and industry standards. Working in a collaborative, data-driven environment, you will lead medium-complexity projects, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement in efficiency, grid reliability, and environmental performance across Calpine’s generation assets.
