Job description
Our client is an AmLaw Top 50law firm at the forefront of innovation in the legal industry, serving clients across Technology, Energy, Finance, and Life Sciences. They are seeking a Practice Manager to join the team in support of their Finance practice group.
Who You Are
You have 5+ years of experience managing a finance-related practice group at a law firm, including managing staffing, professionaldevelopment, and workload allocation for associates
J.D. preferred; MBA or equivalent industry experience considered
Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills
Comfortable partnering with partners, associates, and senior business leaders
Strong financial acumen with advanced Microsoft Office and data analysis skills
What You’ll Do
Manage associate staffing, utilization, and work allocation across the Finance practice
Partner with associates on professional development, training, mentoring, and career goals
Analyze utilization, productivity, profitability, and other practice performance metrics
Work with practice leaders to identify staffing needs and support hiring and workforce planning
Help integrate new associates and of counsel into the practice
Partner with Finance, Talent, Innovation, and other teams to improve resource allocation and efficiency
Support practice leadership with financial analysis, strategic initiatives, communications, and day-to-day operations

Associate workloads are balanced effectively with client and professional development needs
Practice leadership has clear visibility into staffing, utilization, and financial performance
Associates receive meaningful development opportunities and support
Practice operations become more efficient, collaborative, and profitable
Salary Range: $180,000 – 240,000 annually, based on experience
Location: New York, NY – Hybrid
