About the Role
Unilumin USA is looking for a Pre-Sales Application Engineer to support integrators, resellers in North America. You will help win projects and make sure they work as designed.
You will be the technical voice of Unilumin in front of our customers' sales, engineering, facilities, and design teams, and a trusted advisor to key customers and prospects.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of Unilumin LED products, including fine pitch, indoor and outdoor, rental and staging, and xR / virtual production LED.
Provide pre-sales system design, including product selection, pixel pitch recommendations, structural and mounting, power and data, signal flow, and layout drawings.
Give pre-sales technical support, product education, and demo assistance to internal sales teams and partners (integrators, resellers, distributors).
Support the preparation of tender documents, bids, RFPs, and spec reviews with sales teams.
Analyze customer requirements and determine the best solution, working with Product Management.
Advise on video processors, LED controllers, and camera-facing setups (high refresh rate, low scan, IMAG, broadcast).
Run product demos and proof-of-concept setups for customers.
Create, manage, and execute customer support and service contracts.
Work with sales to plan and organize sales opportunities.
Assist with installation, commissioning, and service at customer sites when needed.
Train integrators, resellers, and internal sales teams on Unilumin products and best practices.
Collect and log customer feedback, and pass technical issues and product requests to Product Management and Engineering to help shape future products.
Find ways to improve customer satisfaction and repeat business, and report findings to management.
Take part in trade shows, meetings, and training sessions as required.
Qualifications
3+ years in a pre-sales, applications, or systems engineering role in LED or professional AV.
Strong hands-on knowledge of direct-view LED systems, video processing, and control systems.
Experience designing systems for corporate, broadcast, live events, control room, retail, or houses of worship.
Able to read and produce system drawings and BOMs.
Excellent communication skills, with confidence leading technical discussions with customers at every level.
Willing to travel up to 60% for customer meetings, site visits, and trade shows.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, AV technology, or equivalent experience.
Preferred
CTS or similar AV certification.
Experience with Brompton, Novastar, Colorlight or similar processing platforms.
Mandarin Chinese is a plus, for working with our HQ engineering team.
