Job TitlePlano and Cylinder Mirrors and Lens Components MachinistJob DescriptionShifts Available: 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am. On the Job Training provided!Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Plan and machine mirrors and lens components to size requirements of drawings, engineering specifications, and/or Coherent standard specifications on a diamond flycut machineHandle all parts in a manner that prevents damageMeasure critical dimensions of parts to determine if they meet blank specificationsControl and verify part thickness and figureUnderstand and utilize the correct machine setupPerform tool set-up for various materials according to established proceduresMaintain process notes to record key manufacturing parameters and issuesWork independently to solve minor problems on a diamond flycutterAccurately wand production activities and complete quality documentationDevelop understanding for QA procedures associated with testing of flycut diamond turned componentsRun multiple machines to ensure maximum production output without making errorsReport errors and accidents immediately to the shift lead, maintenance supervisor, or engineersVerify all setups to ensure the machine will not crashFollow all Coherent and departmental safety practices and proceduresMaintain all areas in an organized mannerEnsure equipment is maintained based on preventative schedulesReport maintenance requirements and machine anomalies promptly to the supervisorDue to ITAR compliance, this position requires a U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, or protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).Education & ExperienceHigh school graduate or GED0-2 years' manufacturing experienceSkillsWell-developed communication and organizational skillsStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to handle diverse detailed tasksAbility to work with minimal supervision and adjust to daily work requirementsAbility to read drawings and engineering notesMust be both team-oriented and self-motivatedCompetent math skillsStrong attention to detail and qualityWorking ConditionsClean room environment within manufacturing plantUse of high-precision machines and metrology equipmentThis position is for off shift hours. Shifts would be 11p-7a OR 3p-11p M-FPhysical RequirementsLong periods of standingConsistent attention to several pieces of equipment and ability to effectively multitask on a multitude of tasksHigh degree of concentrationWorking with chemicals, cleaning solvents, toxic and hazardous materialsSafety RequirementsAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
