Job description
Schedule/Hours: M – F 8:00 pm – 5:00 pm – 40 hours a weekThis position is responsible for:Plans, develops, initiates, and monitors a curriculum where children are actively involved in the learning process, experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials. Ensures that the day-to-day operation of the Child DevelopmentCenter;maintain compliance with established policies and procedures as well as an operational budget.Key Responsibilities:Plans, coordinates, supervises, and monitors the day-to-day operations of the Child Development Center, pre-school; ensures compliance with accepted child care practices and licensing regulations, as well as, school policies and procedures.Hires, supervises and evaluates Child Development Center workers; plans, prioritizes, coordinates, and monitors employees work in progress and upon completion; instructs and trains in proper methods and procedures; conducts performance evaluations; provides constructive and positive feedback to employees.Plans, develops, and monitors curriculum content of classes, giving specific as well as general guidance to each class worker.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Work is performed in a normal child care environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.Employee Benefits:Paid Time OffPaid HolidaysHealthcare Bundle PlanRetirement PlanDiscounted Childcare and more!EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or a related field, andThree years progressively responsible experience teaching early childhood education with at least two years in a supervisory capacity, orany equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:Valid state driver's license Food Handlers CertificationC.P.R. and First Aid Certification Directors Credential C.D.A.Trauma informed certification (Through DCF)Additional Information:All Employees recognize that The Salvation Army is a church and agree that they will do nothing as an employee of The Salvation Army to undermine its religious mission*This position requires a level 2 background screening.
