President – Property & Casualty Insurance Brokerage
Location: Westchester County, New York
Hanover Search Group has been retained to identify a President for a well-established, independent Property & Casualty insurance brokerage based in Westchester County, New York.
The firm has built a highly regarded middle-market franchise with particular expertise across Construction, Real Estate and High Net Worth Personal Lines. The business is entering an important next phase of its development, and the incoming President will play a central role in the continued evolution of the organization and the transition to its next generation of leadership.
This is a broad executive leadership mandate. Working closely with the existing ownership team and Board, the President will progressively assume responsibility for many of the senior-level functions currently managed by the firm's principals, while preserving the client-centric culture and entrepreneurial approach that have underpinned the company's success.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a senior relationship leader for the firm's most important clients, maintaining the high level of responsiveness and service for which the business is known
Provide leadership, guidance and strategic oversight to an experienced team of functional and departmental leaders
Partner with management on talent, organizational development, staffing and other key people decisions
Represent the organization with clients, carriers, industry partners and relevant external organizations
Help shape and execute the firm's longer-term growth strategy, including organic growth initiatives and potential strategic opportunities
Ensure continuity of leadership as responsibilities progressively transition from the current ownership team
Preserve and strengthen a collaborative, entrepreneurial and relationship-driven culture
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an accomplished insurance executive with significant experience in the middle-market P&C brokerage sector, ideally within the New York Tri-State market.
The successful candidate will bring:
Significant commercial insurance brokerage experience
Strong knowledge of Construction and Real Estate risks and clientele
Familiarity with High Net Worth Personal Lines
A track record of developing and maintaining sophisticated, long-standing client relationships
Demonstrated success leading experienced managers and broader organizations
The judgment and interpersonal skills to operate effectively in a relationship-driven, entrepreneurial business
A collaborative leadership style that empowers strong managers while providing clear strategic direction
The presence and credibility to become a trusted external representative of the firm
The Opportunity

Rather than inheriting a turnaround situation, the incoming President will join a strong existing business and help guide its next chapter—working alongside the current leadership team before progressively assuming broader responsibility for the organization.
The position is based in Westchester County, New York and requires a significant in-office presence.
