Press Brake OperatorThe Press Brake Operator sets up, programs, and operates press brake machinery to form metal components according to precise specifications. This role uses CNC equipment, strong technical skills, and mechanical aptitude to ensure accurate, high-quality production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal parts according to work orders and drawings.Use CNC controls to program and adjust machine settings for accurate and repeatable production.Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures for each job to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.Inspect parts during and after production to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments on press brake and CNC equipment to maintain smooth operation.Follow technical instructions, shop drawings, and production schedules to complete jobs efficiently and on time.Maintain a clean and organized work area, keeping tools, materials, and equipment in proper working order.Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials.Essential SkillsHands-on experience operating press brake machinery in a production or fabrication environment.CNC background with the ability to work with CNC controls and make basic program adjustments.Strong technical skills to interpret job requirements and apply appropriate machine settings and tooling.Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machine functions and perform routine adjustments.Ability to read and follow technical instructions, job travelers, and basic drawings or diagrams.Attention to detail to ensure parts meet required measurements, tolerances, and quality standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar metal fabrication role.Familiarity with metal materials and forming processes in a manufacturing setting.Basic problem-solving skills to identify and correct issues during production.Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.Willingness to follow established procedures and continuously improve work practices.Why Work Here?Join a stable manufacturing environment that values technical skill, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Work is typically performed on set shifts aligned with production schedules, with an emphasis on maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe workspace.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
